Thanks to the companies Aquaduin, Farys and De Watergroep I dream of a future where we drink water from the sea! They launched a pilot project in Nieuwpoort to purify both fresh, brackish and salt water to drinking water.
The pilot plant in Nieuwpoort has to run for at least 3 months and mimics the membrane part of the water production process on a smaller scale. If the innovative technology presents positive test results, a new water production center will be built by 2025 that can supply drinking water for more than 30,000 families. That would be amazing!
If they succeed in developing a climate-robust water supply, I can really dream of a future where everybody on the whole world have access to good quality drink water!
